One of the most essential travel items you’ll need for a flight is a travel pillow. After all – the seats on a plane are not always comfortable, and if you are placed in a middle or aisle seat, it’s hard to find a way to rest your head. Travel pillows can help to prop your head in a certain position so that you can rest more easily.
There are so many types of travel pillows in the market today – memory foam travel pillows; long travel pillows; neck pillows; etc. But how do you know which one to choose?
Three months ago, I was in your position – searching for a great travel pillow. I had previously tried the u-shaped ones but it didn’t do its justice – I still got neck cramps afterwards. So I did my research and I checked out allllll of those sites that had a list of the best travel pillows and tried to find one that I really liked. And I had finally settled for this one – the Huzi Infinity Pillow. I was drawn to it mainly because it looked “different” than the other travel pillows, had great reviews, and it wouldn’t make me look silly. Plus I am all about good posture and a functional back, so I didn’t want a pillow that would require me to arch forward just to use it.
It arrive about one day after I bought it (thanks Amazon Prime!). I wore it on a 6 hour flight to Trinidad. And let me tell you – it was a game changer. One way to describe it – it’s kind of like a body pillow, except for your neck. Now I take it with me on every flight, even on the shorter 2 hour flights.
Why did I like this Infinity Travel Pillow so much?
-
It’s versatile!
It’s like one huge pillow that you can mold into whatever you want it to be so that you can lay your head in different ways, cuddle with it, block out sunlight, etc. Most travel pillows are stiff and only mold to fit one way.
-
You can fold it up so that it can fit into your purse/bag.
Again, this is a pro and a con (more on the con later). I personally view it as a pro since I don’t carry much in my carry on anyways. And I don’t like walking around with something on my neck.
-
It’s machine washable.
I have washed this pillow at least twice so far (after I travel) without any issues.
-
It keeps you warm.
You can also wrap it around yourself so that it can serve as a sort of blanket, since it’s so long. And you know that planes can be chilly, especially during take off.
However, there are three cons to point out….
-
While it is versatile, it can be a bit bulky.
Also, you cannot inflate/deflate it. If you tend to carry a lot of stuff with you in your carry on, then this is not the right travel pillow for you.
-
If you are looking for a pillow that will keep your head up during a flight, then this is not a good option.
You can try to twist it around (like an infinity scarf) which should work somewhat. But if you need serious neck support, then it would be best to stick to neck pillows.
-
It doesn’t come with a bag. However, it does come with a weird little tie strap that you will never be able to ever use again.
So if you plan on buying it, then you should use a little handbag to keep this travel pillow in it. Or just get a string and tie a knot around it when you’re done using it.
